Synopsis

Luke Wilson is about to lose the Blue Ocean Aquarium he inherited from his grandfather—until he suddenly discovers he can understand what animals are saying. With his last $100,000, he buys a 'dangerously crazy' polar bear that turns out to be miserable because nobody ever gave it a cold bath or a good scratch. Overnight, the aquarium becomes a sensation. Luke keeps taking risks: he cures an 'anorexic, depressed' emperor penguin who was only upset because his mirror was dirty; he befriends a supposedly killer sea lion who just wants a stage to sing (badly); and he gets a pod of bored dolphins grooving to street beats instead of classical music. But rival owner David keeps planting 'problem' animals to destroy Luke's business. When a stranded wild orca goes berserk on live TV, David dares Luke to help. Luke wades in, reaches into the whale's mouth, and pulls out a broken turtle shell stuck in its teeth. The grateful orca decides to stay with him. Luke's gift turns every attack into applause—and builds an aquarium where animals are finally happy.
