Synopsis
Primary school student Xiaoyu lives with his mother Lin Hui, relying solely on each other. Lin Hui supports the family by working three jobs, while Xiaoyu’s father left home many years ago. By chance, Xiaoyu finds an old bank card left behind by his father. When he tries to check its balance, the card is linked to a huge sum of unexplained assets. After the police get involved, Xiaoyu provides clues from a child’s unique perspective and helps uncover the truth that his father embezzled public funds. In the end, the father is sentenced for his crimes, and the illegal assets are confiscated in accordance with the law. With community support and their own hard work, Lin Hui and Xiaoyu get their lives back on track. Xiaoyu’s maturity and bravery shine like a faint light, warming a family trapped in hardship, and proving the rule of law: no lawbreaker escapes punishment.
