Synopsis

Xu Lin's mother-in-law, Gao Shufen, needs heart surgery. Her husband, Li Tianhao, chooses his mistress, Ye Rou, over his mother's surgery, causing her death. Li Tianhao ignores the funeral. Xu Lin follows the mother's wish, buries her in sunflowers. Ye Rou wants the land, so Li Tianhao digs up the grave and scatters the ashes. Xu Lin exposes him at a fake funeral and demands a divorce. Li Tianhao demands she leave with nothing, but lawyer Shi Yi reveals a will: Gao Shufen leaves everything to Xu Lin. Xu Lin reclaims funds from Ye Rou and kicks her out. Xu Lin exposes Ye Rou's scams via surveillance and jails Ye Rou's mother for theft. Li Tianhao regrets his actions. Ye Rou attempts to poison Xu Lin but kills herself; Li Tianhao becomes disabled. Three years later, Xu Lin is with Shi Yi, encounters a local doctor, Li Tianhao. Xu Lin walks away, Li Tianhao suffers a breakdown and dies in a hallucination.
