Synopsis
My best friend and I married the Harper brothers. I wed the older one, a fire captain, while she wed the younger, a surgeon. On our anniversary, my husband's first love locked me in a room and set it on fire. Seven months pregnant, I was trapped in suffocating smoke. I called my husband for help, but his voice was ice: 'Stop the drama! Megan's cat is in danger! I must save a real life!' My friend Leah broke the door down and dragged me out. Desperate, she called her husband to check on me, but met only cold indifference: 'Megan's cat has a wounded tail. As a doctor, I must help. Leah, stop the hysterics and show some respect.' That day, I lost my baby. Watching the doctor carry out my fully-formed child, my soul collapsed. 'Leah, I want a divorce.' She hugged me tight: 'If you divorce, I'm leaving too. These two jerks don't deserve a drop of our tears.' That same night, the Harper brothers received the divorce papers and panicked.
