The Twenty-Dollar Contract

Synopsis

Ava Hart is trapped in a ruthless family power game when her father Robert freezes her mother’s trust fund and forces her into an arranged engagement with Tyler, a man who views her as a corporate asset. At a high-society hotel event, her life collapses as she learns she is being traded for financial survival. Desperate, she pays twenty dollars to a stranger to pose as her fake fiancé, Dominic Kane. He appears ordinary but radiates quiet authority that unsettles the entire room. As Ava clings to him to escape humiliation, Dominic transforms the fake engagement into a strategic weapon against those controlling her fate. Secrets unravel when Hart Group’s debt to Kane Capital—eighty million dollars—is exposed, revealing Robert’s manipulation and forged documents tied to Ava’s mother. Tyler, Diane, and Brooke attempt public humiliation, but Dominic dismantles their authority with calculated precision. What begins as a lie becomes a binding contract of protection enforced like law. Ava realizes her family did not just sell her; they erased her autonomy long before the engagement night. As betrayal deepens, Dominic’s identity as the feared head of Kane Capital is revealed, shifting the balance of power in every room he enters. In the end, Ava must choose between escaping her family or standing beside the man who turned her desperation into control as the entire hotel watches in silence.
