Theresa is the Chief Legal Officer of Apex Technology and the wife of Apex CEO Peter, with whom she has been secretly married for five years. Peter promised to reveal their marriage after the company went public, but at the pre-IPO dinner, Theresa discovers Peter's infidelity and that he has a child. She decisively contacts a divorce lawyer to gather evidence, ultimately securing 25% of Apex's shares and joining the Apex Group, where she achieves career success and finds love. Apex's IPO is suspended due to allegations of false disclosure and it is eventually acquired.
