Synopsis
Leandro Luna returns to his village, improves the soil, and builds a farming facility. Income rises, and he earns recognition. Communal chief Chico Chávez forcibly reclaims the land and turns the villagers against Leandro. Leandro removes his equipment and uses chemicals to leave the land barren. Chávez's plan collapses, and he is sanctioned; the village falls back into depression. The elders beg Leandro to return, but resentment makes him refuse, so he starts a new career.
