The Poisonous Karma

Synopsis

Ke Ke, the daughter of CEO Tang Meng, was abducted at the age of one and abused by Du Jichang's family. One day, a starving Ke Ke is forced by Pan Rong to pick mushrooms in the mountains. She falls from a tree but is saved by Zuo Lanxin. Discovering poisonous mushrooms in her basket, Ke Ke quickly throws them away. However, Du Jichang finds them, mixes them with the safe mushrooms Ke Ke picked, and stews chicken soup, refusing to let Ke Ke eat any. Despite Ke Ke's warnings, she is beaten. Later, Pan Rong miscarries due to poisoning, and Du Jichang frames Ke Ke, forcing the child to flee to Zuo Lanxin's home. Although Zuo Lanxin's family is struggling (her youngest son, Kangkang, has leukemia), she takes in the well-behaved Ke Ke. In the end, Tang Meng finds Ke Ke, and out of gratitude, helps treat Kangkang's illness and secures a job for Zuo Lanxin.
