Synopsis
Six-year-old Elsie Ashford wanders the streets of Boston, surviving only with the help of her dog Patch, a moonstone pendant, and a golden magic that backfires on her own body. An accident on the ice reunites her with her brother Adrian, who has been searching for her for six years, and leads the Blackwood family to re-target the missing Starborn heir. After returning to the Ashford home, Elsie does not gain immediate safety. Fake guardians, magic hunters, forged DNA, a fake boarding school, and power-seekers within the family emerge one after another. She must learn to trust her family while guarding her own power and right to choose. As the moonstone is destroyed and her guardian beast Sol vanishes, Elsie finally realizes that true magic never lies in a relic, but in her own bloodline and the people she is willing to protect.
