The Lemon Tart

Synopsis

With debt closing in, Evan is fighting to pay for his mother’s medical care and save Carter’s Bakery, the shop left by his late father. After helping an elderly stranger and refusing his blank check, Evan catches the attention of Henry Lawrence, patriarch of a powerful family. Henry gives his rebellious granddaughter, Ava, an ultimatum: marry Evan under a three-month contract, or lose her inheritance. Evan is steady and self-reliant; Ava hides her loneliness behind a reckless heiress persona. Their fake marriage begins with constant clashes and “marriage rules,” but a jealous ex, hostile relatives, and public scandals slowly bring them closer. Then a fifteen-year-old accident exposes Evan’s father’s death, the Lawrence family’s secrets, and Victoria’s schemes. Ava gives up her inheritance to stand beside Evan, while Evan learns to choose his own future. When their contract ends, they divorce by choice—then begin a real relationship through a “Lifetime Dating Contract.”
