Synopsis

General Fu Li purchases Qing Zhuang, a seemingly foolish dancer who closely resembles his deceased love, Xin Niang, to act as her body double. In reality, Qing Zhuang is a spy sent by an assassin organization. She acts dense and play-acts to deflect suspicions from Fu Li and his men. When a newcomer named Yun Que, an assassin from the same organization, tries to force her to poison Fu Li, Fu Li exposes the plot. Yun Que commits suicide, revealing her true identity. Meanwhile, the Prince of Dongping dies suddenly, and the Emperor falsely suspects Fu Li. On their wedding day, Qing Zhuang fakes an assassination attempt on Fu Li. The two fake his death to draw out the mastermind, Feng Buhui. Ultimately, Fu Li uses the defense map stolen by Qing Zhuang to defeat the enemy and execute Feng Buhui. Qing Zhuang's true identity is revealed, and the two end up together.
