The Green Lie and The Red Truth

Synopsis

Ten-year-old Lily is branded a liar by her mother using a lie detector bracelet. When Lily speaks truth, the bracelet glows red and shocks her. Her twin, Ruby, wears a fake green bracelet, framing Lily for misdeeds. The mother, blinded by pseudoscience, traps Lily while spoiling Ruby. On New Year's Eve, Lily suffers a ruptured appendix; she pleads for help, but the red light convinces the mother she is faking, so she locks her away to watch fireworks. Lily dies alone, writing her truth in a diary. Three days later, the mother finds the body and learns the bracelet detects only pain and fear, not lies. Donning the blood-stained bracelet, the mother is tortured by her own red-lit lies, goes insane, cripples Ruby, and dies in despair. Lily's soul finally finds peace.
