The Gold Rush Don: Blood of the West

Synopsis

Cassius appears to be an ordinary blacksmith in Free Creek, a mining town in Nevada. In truth, he is the don of the Grant Syndicate, ruler of the West’s criminal underworld. To repay his mistress Violet for “saving his life”, he chooses to live under an assumed identity. But Violet betrays him, taking up with Fletcher, a wealthy upstart mining heir, and humiliates Cassius in public. Meanwhile, Adelaide, matriarch of the powerful Sterling family — San Francisco’s elite railroad baron clan — recognizes Cassius from a custom meteorite-iron pocket watch. He is her youngest son, who vanished after a canyon ambush fifteen years ago. When Fletcher attempts to crush Cassius for good using capital and hired guns, the Syndicate’s heavily armed horse riders and the family’s private ironclad train arrive at the same time. Cassius will not only destroy those who betrayed him, but also uncover the traitor within his own family who ordered the assassination all those years ago. He also seeks to find the true love who took a bullet for him in that desert ambush five years prior.
