Synopsis

Five-year-old Ava arrives at Blackridge Ranch alone on her black horse, carrying a Hawthorne silver badge and three guiding stones, insisting that ranch owner Cole is her daddy. She can understand what animals say and use her small hands to stop bleeding. When Cole is in danger at Red Creek, she saves him; on the night of the great fire, she rings the warning bell with him and protects all of Blackridge. But when the truth comes out, she is not Cole's biological daughter. Just as Ava thinks she is about to be sent away again, Cole publicly claims her as his daughter and writes her name into the Hawthorne family records: family is never defined by blood, but by the choice to belong to each other.
