Synopsis
Eileen worked day and night to raise money to buy an expensive smart prosthetic for her 'paralyzed' husband, Evan, while her college friend Leah voluntarily helped take care of the family. On the very day she received the prosthetic, a sudden fire broke out at home, tragically claiming the life of their five-year-old son, Jackie, while her husband 'cut his wrists in grief' and was hospitalized. Holding the urn, Eileen went to the hospital but unexpectedly overheard a conversation between Evan and Leah — Evan’s paralysis was completely faked, all to be with his lover every day, and in order to keep his secret, he watched his son burn to death without acting. Devastated, Eileen suppressed her hatred and pretended to be unaware while secretly gathering evidence, eventually finding the burnt security footage in the ruins. Meanwhile, Evan used the grief over his lost son to return to the Harris family and fight for inheritance rights, and at his grandson's memorial, he publicly announced a divorce, planning to legitimize Leah. After repairing the surveillance footage, Eileen obtained irrefutable proof that Leah committed arson and Evan failed to save their son. At Evan and Leah’s grand cathedral wedding, she publicly played the video, exposing the entire truth. Elder Harris suffered a stroke on the spot, and the lavish wedding became a laughingstock throughout New York.
