Synopsis
Seven-year-old orphan Ellie has a special gift: she can see people’s kindness or evil as golden or black threads. She uncovers a wealthy couple’s child-trafficking plot, rejecting their lavish life to stay with the Carters, an ordinary family with a wounded, withdrawn teenage son named Ethan. Amid cozy days at the family restaurant, Ellie heals her brother, exposes school bullies and human-trafficking rings, and saves a desperate teenager named Sophie. Through countless hardships, Ethan fully recovers, while Ellie becomes a national coding champion. As they head to New York, they learn that kindness defeats all darkness, and the love of an ordinary family is the brightest light.
