The Don’s Promise

Synopsis

Five years ago, Evelyn was saved from the Chicago River by a mysterious stranger. Today, her fiancé Kevin abandons her at the altar for a real estate heiress, while her mother falls critically ill, needing urgent surgery. Enter Howard, a wounded mafia don who has secretly loved Evelyn for years. He offers a deal: a one-year marriage in exchange for covering all medical bills. Desperate, Evelyn agrees. Howard is domineering and possessive, but beneath his cold armor lies fierce tenderness—defending her from bullies, punishing her ex, and tracking down a rare vintage teddy bear for her. Bitter over rejection, Kevin teams up with Howard's vengeful ex-fiancée, Amber Moretti, kidnapping Evelyn and forcing Howard into a high-stakes casino gamble. Evelyn helps him win, and during a deadly ambush, Howard risks his life to protect her. She discovers Howard was her true savior five years ago. Walking away from the underworld, Howard remarries Evelyn in a church, turning a transactional marriage into eternal devotion.
