Synopsis
Once the Empire’s greatest Dragon Knight, Valerie disappeared five years ago after a continental disaster. She now lives incognito as maid Val, tending beasts at Dragon’s Breath Valley arena to escape her past. Her peaceful days end when Gideon, her former subordinate and the Empire’s leading knight, arrives seeking her guidance. Meanwhile, Julian, Dragon Knight Legion commander, covets crystal veins under the valley. He frames a poisoned dragon’s death to force a decisive three-round beast combat for the valley’s fate. Valerie emerges to defend her home. She tames untamable black serpent Abyss and secures two vital victories with brilliant tactics and daring feats. Julian raises the stakes for the final battle in the Sacred Cave, where Valerie reveals Abyss is her long-lost dragon Nidhogg. She learns Julian trapped Nidhogg five years ago to poison the crystal vein. At the Royal Dragon Rider Tournament, Julian’s conspiracy unfolds. He uses forbidden magic to mutate his legion for rebellion. Valerie fights alongside Gideon; with his support, she destroys Julian’s energy core, and Nidhogg’s dragonfire defeats him. Cleared of all charges, Valerie rejects a prestigious royal post. She stays in the valley with Gideon and allies to rebuild, embracing a new life guarding her home.
