Synopsis

On her graduate exam day, Li Wang'er is dragged away by her father, Li Jianguo, under the guise of her mother's illness. Upon arrival, she discovers her mother, Zhao Qiuxia, just gave birth to a son. Her patriarchal father forces her to drop out to care for her brother; she runs away. Six years later, at her engagement to Zhou Yuan, her parents reappear with unreasonable demands, causing her to suffer a miscarriage. With her mother-in-law's help, Wang'er and Zhou Yuan reconcile and find happiness.
