Synopsis
Once the most powerful rope‑guide of the Sacred Mountain, Evelyn is destroyed in the aftermath of a brutal avalanche. The adored Saintess Celeste frames her, falsely accusing Evelyn of slicing the rescue rope and leaving her permanently crippled. Her fiancé Duke Adrian swallows the deceit and turns against her. For three bitter years, Evelyn kneels upon ice‑covered stone steps. She endures this penance to secure medicine for her brother Noah and sustain a struggling orphanage. When she reaches the final step of her punishment, Adrian cruelly commands her to kneel and lick Celeste’s boots. A black raven descends, bearing news of Noah’s death. Having lost everything she fought to protect, Evelyn shreds her atonement contract. She will drag the saintess’ flawless, carefully‑constructed lies out into the unforgiving light for all to witness.
