Synopsis
Theodore Sterling, heir to the Sterling Group, and Abigail Julian, heiress to the Julian family, shared a decade-long engagement—a union hailed as the gold standard of business alliances. However, weary of Theodore’s cool, restrained, and "robotic" demeanor, Abigail publicly tore up the engagement contract in pursuit of "true love," impulsively marrying Leon Hart and humiliating her former fiancé online. Theodore remained utterly unmoved; he promptly severed the multi-billion-dollar credit lines and supply chains upon which the Julian family’s survival depended. Deprived of financial backing, the Julian Group rapidly collapsed: banks halted lending, carriers terminated contracts, and its credit rating plummeted to rock bottom. With her father unable to secure a lifeline anywhere, Abigail discovered that her husband, Leon Hart—who had promised to save her—was actually a con artist who had built his fortune by swindling his ex-wife’s family; seeing no further profit to be made, he absconded with the remaining funds and abandoned her. Under Theodore’s precise maneuvering, the Julian family was driven to the brink of bankruptcy. Ultimately, Theodore acquired the Julian family’s entire business empire for a rock-bottom price, leaving Abigail with nothing.
