Synopsis

After her house is demolished, Wang Guifang receives a hefty compensation sum. With nowhere to live, she gathers her children—Shengnan, Jiye, and Tianci—and offers a portion of the payout to whichever child agrees to care for her in her old age. Greedy for the money, her two sons, Jiye and Tianci, promise to look after her just to split the cash. However, once the money is in their hands, they show their true colors, abusing Guifang and trying to kick her out. It is only when her daughter, Shengnan, discovers the abuse and takes her in that Guifang finally sees the truth: relying on sons for old age is a pipe dream, and only true character matters. In the end, she takes both abusive sons to court to reclaim the compensation money that is rightfully hers.
