Synopsis
Paper effigy craftsman Leo Cole strictly adheres to his master's 'four taboos' rule. However, his wife, Rhea Wynn, and mother-in-law, Sue Lawson, greedy for money, conspire with the deceased's husband, Jared Zane, to forge information and trick him into accepting a paper offerings job for Wanda Lynn, a pregnant woman who suffered a violent death. That night, the paper effigy 'comes to life' and appears at their door. The mother and daughter not only obstruct Leo Cole from using his master's three-step method to resolve the issue but also disrespectfully tear the paper effigy, causing Wanda Lynn to leave a curse for the annihilation of their entire family. Seeing the paper effigy reappear after being burned, Leo Cole decides to cremate the body to pacify the spirit but encounters Wanda Lynn's uncontrolled corpse transformation. While seeking help from the shaman Master Lawson, Wanda Lynn's eerie attacks and seductive words finally make the mother and daughter confess a shocking secret in their extreme fear—it turns out, this was all a setup orchestrated by Leo Cole from the very beginning.
