Synopsis

Shufen, a rural mother, raises her adopted daughter Gu Fei and her biological son Gu Yang. Gu Fei is a sensible and supportive daughter who often disciplines her playful younger brother Gu Yang, which breeds resentment in him. Upon discovering that Gu Fei is not his biological sister, Gu Yang pushes her down a steep hill, and everyone's search for her is in vain. Years later, Gu Yang gets married in the city. Shufen attends the wedding but is humiliated by her daughter-in-law, a scene witnessed by Gu Fei. It turns out Gu Fei survived the fall, was rescued, and is now married to a wealthy businessman. Seeing Shufen triggers her lost memories, and she takes Shufen home. Instigated by his greedy wife, Gu Yang tracks down Shufen to exploit Gu Fei's wealth. Shufen reveals the dark truth of the past. Furious, Gu Fei confronts Gu Yang and convinces Shufen to sever ties with him. Left with nothing, Gu Yang ends up homeless on the streets, finally expressing remorse to his mother.
