My Husband Wanted Me Dead

Synopsis

Camille Bellgrave is the heir to Miami’s wealthy Bellgrave dynasty and the pivotal leader of Bellgrave Ventures. She boasts a thriving business, a young daughter named Poppy, and Preston Hollowell, her husband whom the outside world regards as gentle and considerate. Though her father Alistair has long deemed Preston incompetent and overly ambitious, Camille remains steadfast in her faith in their marriage, planning to grant her husband far greater authority within the company once a landmark acquisition closes. She also counts Celeste Fenwick as her closest confidante, granting her unrestricted access to her oceanfront estate. What Camille does not know is that her husband and best friend have long betrayed her. Preston bribes Poppy with snacks, stuffed dolls and cartoons, pressuring the little girl to keep Celeste’s visits a secret. After distracting the child, he leaves her alone in her bedroom to carry on an affair with Celeste throughout the mansion. One day, Poppy chases a rainbow-spotted ball gifted by her father from her bedroom all the way to the backyard swimming pool. A gust of wind blows the toy into the water. The young girl leans over to retrieve it, slips on the wet tiles, and plunges into the pool. At that very moment, Camille is en route home in her executive sedan. She watches her daughter thrashing underwater via the estate’s live security feed. She frantically calls Preston’s phone repeatedly, unaware he is inside the house, nor that Celeste has silenced his phone.
