Synopsis
Esther has been trapped in an abusive marriage for five years. Her husband, Carl, has cheated on her, beaten her, and indirectly caused the death of their daughter. On their fifth wedding anniversary, during another violent confrontation, Carl accidentally dies. In shock, Esther buries his body in the backyard and goes to sleep. The next morning, Carl appears again—alive and acting warm and gentle, just like when they first fell in love. His personality is nothing like the abusive husband she buried. Esther begins to wonder: did Carl return from the dead, or has someone replaced him?
