Synopsis

During a record heatwave, meteorologists warn against leaving children in cars. Mark, obsessed with his first love Sarah and her sickly son, locks his own daughter Mia in a sweltering car. Mia calls for help, but Mark dismisses her to play the 'perfect father' for Sarah. Claire, Mia's mother, receives a distress video from the car and collapses. Mark ignores her calls. His mother Ruth, favoring grandsons, refuses to help and curses Mia. Mark's friend Tom dismisses Claire. After a desperate search and false leads, Claire finds Mia too late; the eight-year-old dies. Mark, still blinded by Sarah, suggests using Mia's liver for Sarah's son. Claire destroys Mark's business. Mark discovers Sarah's true nature, learns of Mia's death, and kills Sarah before jumping to his death. Ruth follows. Claire survives, forever broken.
