Synopsis

Liu Xiaoyu lost her father at a young age and was raised by her mother, Wang Xiufang, alongside her younger sister, Liu Huimin, through years of hardship. Due to an old betrothal agreement, one of the sisters must marry the village chief's mentally disabled son. During the fateful draw, their mother connives to let the younger sister, Huimin, cheat, forcing Xiaoyu to take her place in a marriage that plunges her life into despair. Later, while working in the city with her disabled husband, Xiaoyu goes missing. Consumed by guilt, Wang Xiufang embarks on a journey to find her eldest daughter. Meanwhile, Huimin, now in college, grows materialistic, vain, and begins to despise her poor mother and humble background. On the day of her engagement to a wealthy tycoon's son, both her mother and sister reappear, exposing her hypocritical and deceitful nature. In the end, Huimin pays a heavy price for her vanity and betrayal.
