Synopsis

The year my father's affair drove my mother to her death, I hated him to the bone. To appease me, he personally sent Victor Young—the man I had loved for ten years—to my bed. After one night together, I fell completely in love with him. Three months later, under his influence, I forgave my father. By the fourth month, it turned out I was pregnant. Since then, I became the most pampered pregnant woman in Beverly Hills. At every checkup, they always waited for me at the hospital. Everyone said I was treated like a princess. But on the day of the important checkup, neither of them showed up. "We have an important project to discuss," my father said gently. Victor stroked my pregnant belly: "Once we're done, I'll bring gifts for you and the baby." I smiled and sent them off, but before the checkup, I received an anonymous video. In it, my father wore a groom's suit, standing next to Morgana Ashford—the woman who caused my mother's death. Beside her was their pregnant illegitimate daughter, Isabella, in a wedding dress, holding Victor by the arm. "Double happiness!" someone in the video exclaimed. "Congratulations to Mr. Hunter and Mr. Young!" At the end of the video, my father's voice was heard: "Your fake marriage to Emily doesn't count. When the baby is born, it will be illegitimate." Victor laughed softly: "Emily has everything, while Isabella grew up as an illegitimate child. I cannot let her child suffer the same fate." I bit my lip and held back my tears, leaving the hospital. Suddenly, my phone vibrated. A sterilization certificate appeared on the screen with the text: "As long as you wish, the child in your womb will be my sole heir."
