Synopsis
The Elven King Aelion’s father lies on his deathbed, and the kingdom’s magic is fading alongside his dwindling life force. To fulfill a blood oath marriage pact made twenty years ago, he conceals his royal identity, disguises himself as a wanderer, and travels to Frost Town in the mortal realm to seek the woman bearing the blessed spirit rune. Freya, the lord’s daughter of the town, is forced by her father and stepmother to marry a seventy-year-old baron. She fights fiercely against the cruel arrangement, only to be slapped and humiliated by her own father. Spotting the spirit rune on her neck, Aelion immediately steps forward and offers to marry her on the spot. Trapped in utter despair, Freya chooses to trust this mysterious stranger and abandons her oppressive family to leave with him.
