Synopsis

Lily's mother uses a lie-detector bracelet to punish her, branding truth as lies. Twin Ruby wears a fake green bracelet, framing Lily while earning mother's favor. On New Year's Eve, Lily suffers appendicitis; mother ignores her cries, dismissing the red warnings as lies. Lily dies alone. Mother later finds the diary, learns the bracelet detects pain, not lies. Consumed by guilt, mother attacks Ruby, leaving her crippled. Father dies in despair. Mother kills herself clutching the diary, finally freeing Lily's spirit.
