Echoes of Us

Synopsis

Twenty years ago, young Sera and Damon made a promise in an orphanage, each keeping half of a jade pendant as a token. Twenty years later, Damon is CEO of Hilton Group—but he mistakes Sera's stepsister Lina, who found the other half, for his childhood love. The real Sera is married into the family as a merger tool, enduring Damon's coldness and Lina's endless torment—forced to kneel, poisoned, nearly disfigured. When Damon is critically injured in a car accident and needs a kidney transplant, Sera donates one of her own—without telling him. Damon wakes up grateful to Lina, believing she saved him, and decides to marry her. At the wedding, Bianca bursts in with DNA reports and surgical records, exposing Lina's lies. Damon collapses at Sera's bedside, sobbing: "I'm the one who deserves to go to hell." In the end, Lina is arrested for attempted murder. Damon and Sera embrace on a lakeside bridge. He holds her hand tightly: "In this lifetime, you'll never escape me again."
