Synopsis
Trapped by her power-hungry mother Queen Melisande, Princess Nerys of Vesalia is forced to marry a greedy lord for wealth. Desperate, she meets Vanos, a scaled stranger she mistakes for a hired companion. They bond deeply, but Nerys soon discovers he is the dragon king of Acheron—whom she saved from slavery years ago. Nerys suffers palace torment from her brother Lothair and Melisande, who reveals she poisoned Nerys with a maddening curse. Fearing she will kill Vanos, Nerys pushes him away. Vanos crashes her wedding in dragon form and carries her back to his realm. Healers claim only their dragon-blood child can suppress the curse. Back in Vesalia, Melisande murders the king; Lothair seizes the throne. The mad king abducts pregnant Nerys, but Vanos rescues her. Nerys takes the antidote, punishes her tormentors, overhauls royal laws, and becomes Vesalia’s first queen, abolishing slavery with Vanos. Months later, they welcome a daughter with dragon scales, uniting the realms with enduring love.
