Synopsis
Orphaned at seventeen, Noah Sterling has nothing left but a locked trust fund—and a desperate plea to Sloane Brookes, a cynical twenty-two-year-old scraping by on four jobs. She agrees to become his guardian for half the money, never expecting the boy to tear down every wall she’s built. He moves into her cramped apartment, sleeps on her couch, and slowly becomes the first person she can’t push away. But Noah isn’t just a charity case—he’s a football prodigy with a Harvard offer, and Sloane is a woman with a past too dark to share: strip clubs, blackmail, and a mother who died broke. When their pent-up desire explodes into one passionate night, Sloane panics and shoves him out, afraid she’ll destroy his future. Noah refuses to leave. He turns down Harvard, models at her company, and fights for her against jealous rivals and a ruthless boss. In the final game of his senior year, with thousands watching, he catches the winning touchdown and publicly declares his love—asking Sloane to take him in again, this time as his partner. She says yes. But their happiness is fragile. Secrets from Sloane’s past surface, threatening her career and their relationship. Can Noah prove he’s man enough to protect her? And can Sloane trust that love doesn’t always leave you broken? Desire Running Wild is a steamy, heart-wrenching romance about two lost souls who find everything in each other—and the courage to hold on when the world says let go.
