Synopsis

Lily, 10, is branded a liar by her mother due to a lie-detector bracelet. When Lily speaks truth, the bracelet shocks her. Her twin, Ruby, wears a fake green bracelet. Her biased mother imprisons Lily, favoring Ruby. On New Year's Eve, Lily suffers appendicitis; the red bracelet flashes, but her mother ignores her pleas, leaving her to die. Later, the mother learns the bracelet measures fear, not lies. Donning the bloody bracelet, she is shocked by her own lies, goes mad, ruins Ruby, and eventually dies clutching Lily's diary while Lily’s soul finds eternal peace.
