Synopsis

Jack Miller, a military veteran, returns to Brook Harbor to run a seafood purchasing business. He consistently offers local fishermen fair buying prices and earns the trust of fishermen including Old Charlie. Angela Shaw, heir to Walton Seafood, aims to monopolize coastal fishing resources. Using an enticing price of $5 per pound — far above the market rate — she incites fishermen to terminate their contracts with Jack, forcing him to shut down his warehouse temporarily. Walton Seafood then exploits loopholes in the contracts to viciously slash the purchase price down to $1.5 per pound, at which point the fishermen realize they have been swindled. Jack gathers evidence of Walton’s past fraudulent acts, unites the cheated fishermen, and drives Walton Seafood out of the harbor. Afterward, he plans to integrate resources from surrounding fishing ports and build a fisherman-owned seafood supply and marketing system, shielding local fishermen from exploitation by capital in the future.
